The report reviews progress achieved in the Arab region in the implementation of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, twenty years after their adoption at the Fourth World Conference on Women (September 1995). It is based on 21 national reports submitted by the following States: Algeria, Bahrain, the Comoros, Djibouti, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Oman, the State of Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the Sudan, the Syrian Arab Republic, Tunisia, the United Arab Emirates and Yemen.
