When:             Thursday 12 and Friday 13 September 2019

Participants include a wide range of stakeholders from Governments, climate funds, financial institutions, civil society, think tanks and the private sector.

Why:      Droughts and land degradation are driving food insecurity and humanitarian crises. Flash floods are damaging the homes and shelters of the most vulnerable in several Arab countries, and have taken the lives of people in cities and rural areas.

This international forum will be an opportunity to highlight key unmet needs of Arab States on the global stage and deepen understanding of how to accelerate the mobilization and delivery of climate finance for sustainable cities. It will allow stakeholders to share good practices, lessons and challenges.

The 8 sessions of the forum will explore the role of climate finance in facilitating inclusive, participatory, gender-responsive and youth-oriented cities.
