Workshop on IP and Technology Transfer for Universities and Research Institutions

The ESCWA Technology Centre (ETC) in cooperation with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and UNESCO office in Amman are organizing the workshop on Intellectual Property (IP) and Technology Transfer (TT) for Universities and Research Institutions, from 16 to 17 November 2011, at El Hassan Science City, Amman, Jordan.

This workshop is tailored to research institutes, universities and public organizations involved in research and development and technology transfer activities. It will support ESCWA member countries (EMCs) to enhance and strengthen their capacity for local creation, development, ownership, management, strategic use and commercialization of IP through establishing formal IP and TT processes in their research active universities and centres.

The event is intended for policy makers in EMCs leading research universities who will develop suitable TT policies in their institutions. Participants will benefit from the international perspective provided by the speakers, and are required to take part in all sessions, discussions, and assignments and group activities.
