The thirteenth International Forum on Energy for Sustainable Development is set to be held under the theme “Just Energy Transition”. The forum, which is a joint effort by the five United Nations regional commissions, aims to address the critical role of energy transition in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Paris Agreement.
During the forum, participants, including experts from the energy sector, government representatives, United Nations entities, international organizations, and other stakeholders, engage in discussions and actions to promote a just energy transition. The forum features roundtables, parallel sessions, and side events covering various energy issues such as clean cooking access, electricity access, renewable energy, energy efficiency, digitalization, artificial intelligence, gender mainstreaming, youth involvement in energy, and cleaner fossil fuel use.
