Regional workshop on effective use of statistics for policy making

ESCWA Statistics Division is organizing a regional Workshop on Effective Use of Statistics for Policy Making, in Amman, from 26 to 28 September 2012. Selected good national practices will be presented following the conceptual framework prepared by ESCWA.

 

The national team, a representative from a national statistical office and from a line ministry, was selected to participate upon successful identification of a national good (completion of Summary Form on Good Practice).
The national teams and the experts are requested to prepare a presentation and a paper (a Statistical Story) on a national good practice related to the effective use of statistics in the formulation of a particular policy, such in the formulation and monitoring of a national development strategy and the Millennium Development Goals, poverty, disability, child immunization, economic performance etc. . with a focus on how statistics were used in monitoring policies as well as measuring their impact and evaluating them.
