ESCWA celebrated International Translation Day twice this year.
Translators, editors and other language professionals and the support team at the ESCWA Conference Management Section had a quick get-together on Translation Day. Together, they paid tribute to translators as custodians of a meaning and a message.
The celebration was resumed in a larger event that attracted colleagues from substantive clusters. It was a nice space to inform partners in content creation and dissemination about a mission that is meant to deliver one message in multiple languages. Participants got to try their hands in a short exercise to discover the mysteries of a profession that is a never-ending but rewarding challenge.
