In the framework of the series of capacity-building workshops for rural women in Algeria under the Regional Initiative to Promote Small-Scale Renewable Energy Applications in Rural Areas of the Arab Region (REGEND), ESCWA is organizing a workshop on good agricultural practices for fruit trees in Tissemsilt.
The workshop includes an elaborate field visit and a seedling planting campaign. It aims to enhance the knowledge of rural women in Algeria on the concepts of pruning, planting, energy and water efficient irrigation, farm management, fertilization, and the use of renewable energy applications for agriculture and farm management.
