ESCWA, with the International Commission for Irrigation and Drainage (ICID), is jointly hosting the fourth African young water professional forum from 25 to 27 October 2021 during Cairo Water Week. The virtual forum is being organized with the ICID African regional working group in collaboration with the Arab Centre for the Studies of Arid Zones and Drylands, the Islamic Development Bank and the Global Water Partnership-Mediterranean. The forum aims to build the capacity of young water professionals engaged in the water and agricultural sectors in conducting climate change assessments to inform adaptation; using AquaCrop to assess climate change impacts on agricultural productivity; using tools for supporting irrigation management amid climate change; and mobilizing youth for a gender transformative approach to water, climate and development in Africa.
Cairo Water Week is organized annually by the Egyptian Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation and is being held in a hybrid format from 24 to 28 October 2021. More information is available on the Cairo Water Week webpage for the forum: https://www.cairowaterweek.eg/se2-2/
