First Consultative Meeting on: Initiative on Aid-For-Trade Raod Map for the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia

ESCWA is hosting the First Consultative Meeting on: Initiative on Aid-For-Trade Road Map for the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) Region to be held at the UN-House, Beirut, Lebanon, during 11-12 January 2010, at the MZ Level. The Opening Session will take place on Monday, January 11, 2010 at 10:00 A.M.

The meeting is organized by the Islamic Trade Finance Corporation and in collaboration with ESCWA.

The meeting's agenda will comprise discussions on Aid-For-Trade Initiatives for ESCWA Region, the setting of Road Map for the initiatives as well as possibilities of organizing Expert and Ministerial Meetings in this respect. Among the participating organizations, other than ITFC and ESCWA, are World Trade Organization (WTO), United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (ECE), United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), International Trade Center(ITC)., The World Bank (WB), Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), and United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).

It is aspired that the final report of the meeting will come up with a road map for implementation of the Aid-For-Trade initiative in the ESCWA Region.
