Dialogue of national human rights institutions on Beijing +30

ESCWA, the UN-Women Regional Office for the Arab States and the League of Arab States, together with the Regional Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Arab Region, the Danish Institute for Human Rights and the KVINFO Organization (Knowledge Centre on Gender and Equality in Denmark), are organizing an interactive dialogue with national human rights institutions in Arab countries.

The dialogue aims to provide representatives of national human rights institutions with an overview of the regional review of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, exchange experiences and best practices on the role and contribution of national human rights institutions in advancing women's issues, and monitor progress towards the implementation of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action after 30 years.

Outcome document

The dialogue presented the regional review process of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action at the national and regional levels. Experiences and best practices were shared on the role of national human rights institutions in advancing women's issues. Finally, challenges and obstacles to the identification of international goals and standards for the advancement of women and ways to address them were discussed.
