As part of its innovative initiative on the annual production of regional purchasing power parity (PPP) estimates and forecasts, ESCWA is holding a regional workshop on price data manipulation for household and non-household consumption surveys. The workshop focuses on how to detect and treat outliers to ensure the utmost accuracy of data, which is crucial for the computation of purchasing power parities. ESCWA is using a special statistical tool to help member States detect any inaccuracies or inconsistencies in the price data they collect.
