The concept of social justice and the process of integrating social justice principles into public policies, plans and programs in the State of Palestine

This virtual national workshop, organized by the Social Justice Team / Gender Justice, Population, and Inclusive Development Cluster at the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), in collaboration with the Prime Minister’s Office in the State of Palestine, is the first phase of a technical support program on social justice provided by ESCWA to the  State of Palestine with the objective to strengthen  the capacities of government officials in various ministries in integrating the concept of social justice into national and sectoral planning processes.

The technical support program includes two components:

1. Enhancing the knowledge of the planning officials in the Palestinian ministries on the concept of social justice and its dimensions.

2. Reviewing a number of sectoral strategies for the years 2021-2023 to assess their alignment with social justice principles, and to provide recommendations to strengthen social justice in the  implementation plans of these strategies.

The workshop targets the Palestinian government officials responsible for developing public policies, plans and programs, in addition to coordinators for national, sectoral and cross-sectoral strategies.
