To support Arab States in their voluntary national review (VNR) preparations, ESCWA, the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs and the League of Arab States have been organizing a series of regional workshops on VNRs since 2019. The workshops serve as a platform for knowledge exchange and peer learning on VNR issues.
In this context, the eleventh workshop on VNRs provides an opportunity to present key findings of the recently published Arab Sustainable Development Report 2024, and reflect on implications for VNRs and the 2030 Agenda follow-up and review more broadly. It also includes briefing participants on relevant outcomes of the Summit of the Future.
The workshop focuses on SDG 16 (peace, justice and strong institutions), reflecting its centrality for development in the region.
