Background
In today's interconnected world, the analysis of cross-border financing streams has become a critical factor in how Governments strategically manage their finances and drive progress in sustainable development. To effectively evaluate advancements in the interconnected financing areas, the Arab Financing for Development Scorecard provides an intuitive approach that analyses the financing landscape, opportunity costs, access to financing, and the effective utilization of different financing streams to advance sustainable development priorities, all while considering their respective costs.
Our approach
The Arab Financing Scorecard adopts a rigorous, data-driven approach to evaluate the financial landscape of Arab countries. Using a combination of quantitative and qualitative assessments drawn from a range of disciplines and datasets, the Scorecard employs an extensive set of indicators and benchmarks to capture the diverse factors shaping the financing landscape at the national level. The Scorecard thereby provides a nuanced understanding of the strengths, challenges and opportunities that exist within each country’s financing ecosystem, enabling comprehensive comparability and empowering decision-makers to drive meaningful reforms and shape policies that foster inclusive economic growth and sustainable development.
