Definition:
A sweeping change in land tenure. It usually involves the breaking-up of large estates and the widespread redistribution of the land into smallholdings, but may also be land consolidation.(Narrow definition) the redistribution of property or rights in land for the benefit of the landless, tenants and farm labourers.
