Definition:

Is an inter-governmental organisation established in 1967 under the auspices of the United Nations Food and Agricultural Organisation (FAO). Its main functions are to promote the rational use of fisheries resources, to assist in establishing a basis for regulatory measures and to encourage training. Its area of competence is the eastern central Atlantic between Cape Spartel and the Congo River.
