Regional climate modelling outputs for Saudi Arabia: Key findings
April 2023
This report provides a summary of mid and end-century climate change projections for Saudi Arabia. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and the Regional Initiative for the Assessment of Climate Change Impacts on Water Resources and Socio-Economic Vulnerability in the Arab Region (RICCAR) both conclude that parts of Saudi Arabia will experience increased climate risks over the coming decades. These risks include temperature increases, precipitation variability and extremes (droughts and floods), and an increase in strong wind days that could contribute to sand and dust storms.
