Assessment of Water Quality Management Practices in the ESCWA Region

This study assesses water quality management practices in selected countries within the region and presents member countries with recommendations on the protection and sustainable use of scarce water resources. It examines the extent to which measures related to water quality management have been integrated into national strategies and/or integrated water quality management plans, and discusses the progress achieved towards meeting the Millennium Development Goals in terms of improving sanitation services. It also evaluates water pollution prevention and control measures in the ESCWA region.
