Survey of Economic and Social Developments in the Arab Region 2013-2014

How severely has the political, security and humanitarian crisis escalated in Iraq, Libya, Palestine and Syria? To what extent does it negatively affect neighboring countries? Are the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) maintaining a stable economic recovery? What are the financing gaps in the region? And what role does the regional economic integration occupy in the Arab region? All these questions will be answered in the Survey conducted by ESCWA during a press conference held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday 19 November 2014, at the UN-House, Riad El Solh Square, Beirut. Speakers in the event are ESCWA Deputy Executive Secretary Abdallah El Dardari, First Economic Affairs Officer at the Economic Development and Globalization Division (EDGD) Yasuhisa Yamamoto, and EDGD Economic Affairs Officer Jose Garcia.
