The two officials discussed collaboration between ESCWA and Egypt. Al-Najjari commended the ESCWA efforts to promote economic and social development in the Arab region, pointing out the readiness of his country to provide support to ESCWA for the reports and studies the Commission produces. Al Najjari also expressed willingness to boost communication between the Egyptian Embassy in Beirut and ESCWA in various areas of work.
The visit of the Egyptian Ambassador came as a follow-up to the official visit of the Executive Secretary to Egypt on 22-24 August 2017, where a framework of cooperation was signed between Egypt and the regional commission for the period 2017-2019.
