Developing sustainable transport in Syria

To develop sustainable transport that supports the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals in Syria, ESCWA and the Syrian Ministry of Transport organized a workshop on 20 March on “Enhancing the quality of data in the transport indicators programme and its use for sustainable transport management and planning”.
 
Officials from the ministry discussed the current state of the latter’s database and the fundamental indicators for sustainable transport management and planning.
 
The workshop concluded by agreeing on a roadmap for a detailed review of the database, aiming to improve and adapt it to serve multi-modal transport management and planning in relation to sustainable development in Syria.
