Cultural icon Nidale El-Achkar at ESCWA on International Women’s Day
with immersive art exhibition by ALBA students
  
Beirut, 1 March 2019(ESCWA)--On this year’s International Women’s Day, Lebanese cultural icon Nidale El-Achkar will be the guest speaker at the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) which will be hosting an immersive art exhibition created by Master students at the Lebanese Academy of Fine Arts - University of Balamand (ALBA).
 
The ceremony will be held at ESCWA headquarters in Beirut, Riyad al-Solh square, on Tuesday 5 March at 10h30 am.
 
A score of Arab and foreign diplomats, political figures, women activists and key personalities will attend, along with representatives of regional, international, and media institutions.
 
Statements will be delivered by:
- Mr. Alain Brenas, Director of the School of Cinema and Audio-Visual Directing, Representative of the dean of ALBA, University of Balamand;
- Ms. Rola Dashti, Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations and Executive Secretary of ESCWA.
 
Presented by Lebanese media anchor Mohamad Kaiss, the ceremony will feature poetry performance by Lebanese actress Natasha Choufani and remarks by the ALBA students.
