During a virtual regional workshop organized on 14 and 15 April, ESCWA presented its tool for assessing policy gaps in terms of compatibility with the principles of social justice. It also launched work on a regional assessment of national policies on wages and protection of workers.
The workshop provided a detailed presentation of the policy gap assessment tool (PGAT), its methodology and the electronic platform created for it, which allows for the collection of the required information in an interactive and systematic manner. Participants also learned how to use the PGAT to draw conclusions about national policies and programmes.
The PGAT will allow stakeholders to build a social justice indicator that reveals gaps in taking into account social justice principles in all stages of policymaking in order to bridge them.
