Committee on Water Resources, 12th session

The Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) is organizing the twelfth session of the Committee on Water Resources from 22 to 24 March 2017 Kempinski Amman, Jordan.
 
The aim of the meeting is to provide ESCWA member countries with an intergovernmental forum to discuss follow-up on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, particularly with respect to the water-related Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). 
 
Discussions with ESCWA member State representatives during the session will focus on the water-related SDGs as well as well water-energy nexus within the context of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.  Exchange will also focus on shared water resources and climate change adaptation in the Arab regional context. Member State representatives will also review the progress achieved in implementing the recommendations made by the Committee at its eleventh session and the work undertaken by ESCWA in the field of water resources under its programme of work since that session, in addition to the ESCWA strategic framework for the biennium 2018-2019
