The Committee on Transport and Logistics is holding its twenty-second session in Cairo, on 6 and 7 December 2021.
It will review activities carried out by the ESCWA secretariat and developments in the field of transport and logistics in member States since its twenty-first session, which was held online on 24 November and 8 December 2020. The Committee will also discuss the impact of COVID-19 on the Belt and Road Initiative and the implications for the Arab region; the findings of a project on sustainable land transport; and the most recent developments in the area of road security.
As part of its proceedings, the Committee will also hold a workshop on the challenges of transitioning to electronic TIR Customs Transit Systems (eTIR).
