The Consultative Experts Meeting on Artificial Intelligence Issues: Technologies, Industries, and Governance falls under the “Series of Expert Meetings on Enriching the Mechanisms for Assessing and Advancing Digital Development in the Arab region”. It explores new dimensions of the intersection between the policies and uses of digital technology, and pressing challenges in the areas of Artificial Intelligence and Data Governance in the Arab region. The goal is to enhance the "ESCWA Conceptual Framework for Digital Development" and its associated tools, reports and documents, as follows:
- Guiding Manual (including the standard template)
(b) Digital development measurement and monitoring model
(c) Arab Digital Agenda 2023-2033 and National Digital Development Agendas
(d) National and Regional Digital Development Reports
The discussions also tackle the ethical and responsible use of AI algorithms and tools, and key data governance issues such as access, quality, security, and privacy.
