UNESCWA to Launch Pioneering Study on Women in the Arab World

UNESCWA Executive Secretary Mervat Tallawy will be holding a press conference to launch a pioneering study on the history of women’s movements in the Arab world tomorrow, Tuesday, 18 April 2006, at 10:00 a.m. at the UN House, Beirut. Lebanese women parliamentarians and Arab and foreign ambassadors accredited to Lebanon have been invited to this event, as well as a number of political, economic and media figures. Also invited are experts on women’s issues and representatives of UN and nongovernmental organizations in Lebanon.
