Target Group: Selected middle and senior managers from the Iraqi Ministry of Municipalities and Public Works (MMPW) who participated in the initial training on "Management Skills"
Expected outputs: 25 middle and senior managers trained on best practices in improving and enhancing management skills
Within the "Capacity Building and Institutional Strengthening of Ministry of Municipalities and Public Works" in Iraq program implemented in partnership with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) - Iraq, the Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) had implemented in November and December 2007 a series of four training workshops on Management Skills targeting middle and senior public sector managers.
As part of its initiative of identifying lessons learned, ESCWA is organizing a three-day follow-up Workshop in Amman, Jordan from 25 till 27 March 2008 targeting 25 participants who successfully undertook the tasks assigned to them, consisting in identifying and implementing initiatives within their respective work environments and reporting on them. Participants will present their projects and highlights pitfalls and successes. It is expected that the beneficiaries of this follow-up training will be able to share experiences and develop lessons learned to enhance the performance of the Iraqi Ministry of Municipalities and Public Works.
