Term:
Irrigation frequency
Definition:

Irrigation frequency is defined as the frequency of applying water to a particular crop at a certain stage of growth and is expressed in days. Not all dependable rainfall is effective and some may be lost through surface runoff, deep percolation or evaporation. Only a part of the rainfall can be effectively used by the crop, depending on its root zone depth and the soil storage capacity. This part is referred to as the Effective Rainfall.
