Training package on inclusive education and disability

November 2022

Inclusive education for all is gaining increasing attention globally, at a time when interest for quality education and leaving no one behind is growing, especially in times of crisis. The Arab region is increasingly concerned with school enrolment and dropout issues. In this context, the comprehensive training package on inclusive education for children and young people with disabilities was developed as part of a partnership between the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) with the support of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center, to support and disseminate inclusive education.

This training package is directed explicitly to educators in the Arab region, at the local, national, or regional levels, whether in the private or public sectors, including teachers and decision-makers working in the entire educational sector and to those wishing to expand their knowledge in the field of inclusive education. Parents of children with disabilities and those working in the areas of equality, integration, and human rights, both educators and non-educators in general, may benefit from this unit. This package aims to ensure the development of comprehensive policies and practices; enhance the quality of education and ensure the participation of all children in school; and place the learning child at the center of the educational process at school, in the family, and in society. It specifically focuses on children most at risk of dropping out and on schools in the most disadvantaged areas.

This training package is available as an interactive forty-hour online course. To register, please click on the following link:
