Review of Progress Made by Yemen in the Implementation of the New Programme of Action for the Least Developed Countries for the Period 2003-2007

This study reviews and evaluates the progress made by Yemen in implementing the Programme of Action for the Least Developed Countries. It also reviews the macroeconomic policies adopted by the Government of Yemen with a view to improving its overall economic performance and evaluates both sectoral developments and social policies aimed at alleviating poverty. The study evaluates the regulatory framework in Yemen and, by means of a thorough evaluation of each of the seven commitments, assesses the extent to which the country has been successful in reaching the goals set in the Programme of Action.
