Case study on policy reforms to promote renewable energy in Georgia

January 2017

The Georgian power sector has changed significantly in the last 10–12 years with policy reforms and major rehabilitation of the power sector leading to investment flows in the sector.

The present case study aims to provide decision-makers, project developers and other actors involved in the renewable energy sector with an analysis of the renewable energy policies and regulatory frameworks that were applied in Georgia to support this strategy, and deduce the lessons learned from that experience.
