On the theme “Our Youth, Our Future”, ESCWA and Lebanon Youth Parliament for Water (LYPW) held on 30 June a virtual ceremony to announce the winners of the World Water Day 2020 Challenge launched last March.
Three winning teams in two age categories were selected, out of 51 students from different schools across Lebanon who had submitted project ideas on water issues. All projects highlighted the country’s water challenges and proposed creative and simple solutions.
ESCWA commended young people’s interest in water issues, as they are the leaders of tomorrow, underlining that there can be no sustainable development in the Arab region without smart water solutions such as those presented by them.
