To mark the Arab Agriculture Day on 27 September, ESCWA participated in a virtual workshop entitled “Towards Resilient Agricultural and Food Systems Capable of Responding to Changes” held by the Arab Organization for Agricultural Development (AOAD).
The two-day workshop focused on means to enhance the Arab agricultural and food systems resilience. ESCWA presented an overview of the Food Systems Summit (FSS) and related thematic dialogues across the region.
The workshop, organized in partnership with the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture in Saudi Arabia, and King Faisal University, reviewed the commitments made by Arab countries to transform their food systems and the main themes for action and pathways identified for the way forward.
