Towards the 2025 system of national accounts in the Arab region

To reflect the real socioeconomic changes taking place within and between countries, the 2008 System of National Accounts (SNA) is being updated to ensure its continuing relevance for the purposes of economic analysis and policymaking.
 
ESCWA and the United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD), in cooperation with the Statistical Center for the Cooperation Council for the Arab Countries of the Gulf (GCC-STAT), organized an inception webinar for the Arab region to update the SNA.
 
The webinar served as a consultative forum for statisticians from national statistical offices from the region and from regional and international agencies, who discussed the progress with the SNA update programme and were introduced to a general overview of the SNA 2025 update programme.
