Priorities for transforming food systems in the Arab region were at the top of the agenda of a virtual session held by ESCWA, AOAD and FAO on 27 July, as one of the activities leading to the United Nations Food System Summit in September.
Government officials, Parliamentarians, representatives of chambers of commerce, young people, and agro-industries were gathered to address the priorities of the Arab region and the immediate actions needed to implement game-changers for the improvement of agriculture, trade, and food processing industries in the region.
They stressed the importance of regional cooperation to help countries in transforming their food systems and identifying appropriate initiatives to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.
