On 24 and 25 February, ESCWA and the Ministry of Labour and Social Development in the Sudan organized a virtual workshop on “Building Partnership Capabilities in Democratic Governance” in the country.
The workshop enhanced knowledge on the requirements of the transitional phase and on the formulation of a new social contract between citizens and the State, founded on democracy, citizenship and human rights. It raised awareness on the concept of participation and its effectiveness in engaging citizens in both public and private sectors.
Participants also suggested means for empowering qualified young leaders who can contribute to a successful transition towards democracy.
