To develop comprehensive policies and procedures aimed at enhancing the affordability of data services accessible through both fixed and mobile broadband networks in Somalia, ESCWA and the National Communication Agency (NCA) organized a workshop on information and communication technology (ICT) price basket indicators.
The workshop, held on 12 August in Mogadishu and online, gathered representatives from ICT service providers and related public institutions, who discussed the draft advisory report and suggested regulation, in a bid to ensure transparency, efficiency, and the fair allocation of costs within the sector.
The workshop went over available international methodologies, which enable data-driven decisions that can significantly improve national performance in the ICT sector.
