The COVID-19 pandemic has placed an enormous strain on public services across the world, including in the Arab region, which is struggling to provide adequate health services and income support for the most vulnerable.
On 16 June, ESCWA participated in an e-workshop on the subject organized jointly by the HBKU College of Public Policy and the Brookings Doha Center.
Discussions revolved around institutional and governance challenges facing Arab countries, the nature of governance deficits and viable solutions that Arab countries can adopt to overcome them.
