On 22 December, ESCWA organized a virtual high-level meeting to launch a newly developed tool aimed at assessing the extent to which social justice principles are mainstreamed in public policies.
The tool helps in identifying gaps and opportunities in policies considered to be a priority, in terms of their responsiveness to the principles of social justice. Based on this evaluation, ESCWA will support Arab countries in formulating interventions to bridge those gaps, and adopt practical and concrete steps to address them.
The meeting was attended by government officials, including experts and policymakers representing ministries of social affairs and of labour in ESCWA Member States.
