On 24 and 25 August, ESCWA, UNICEF and the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation (MoPIC) in Jordan organized an online training on computable general equilibrium (CGE) modelling techniques.
The training was aimed at building the capacity of MoPIC officials in modelling and planning, using a CGE interface designed by ESCWA. The ESCWA tool is user-friendly; it targets non-technical users and allows them to run more than one simulation and quickly view results.
This training is undertaken as part of a project whose goal is to build member States’ capacity in devising their own CGE models for better economic planning and policymaking.
