On the theme “Developing a national cultural system that promotes a cohesive identity and rejects hatred, exclusion and discrimination”, ESCWA held on 7 July the first dialogue webinar of its Libya Socioeconomic Dialogue Project.
More than 60 Libyan experts took part in the webinar. They agreed that promoting awareness and knowledge of the Libyan identity and recognizing diversity within unity are essential to achieve equitable peace and inclusive development in Libya. Experts also stressed the importance of engaging all components of Libyan society in the dialogue process, especially the most marginalized such as persons with disabilities.
The Libya Socioeconomic Dialogue Project of ESCWA, owned and led by Libyans in all its stages, offers a platform for them to participate in charting their country's path towards sustainable socioeconomic development, through public webinars, questionnaires, opinion polls, surveys, and comprehensive assessments and studies.
