During her participation in the first Middle East and North Africa Climate Week (MENACW 2022), held from 28 to 31 March in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, ESCWA Executive Secretary Rola Dashti called for developing green economy strategies and adopting policies that support sustainable and responsible practices.
Dashti stressed that the climate policy must be informed to be actionable, and that accelerating implementation means increasing access to data and analysis through digital platforms and online tools.
She added that open access to information not only serves policymakers, but also empowers civil society and young people to engage in climate action and become partners in the pursuit of new development pathways.
