On 10 March, ESCWA and the UNEP Regional Office organized a virtual regional consultation on the environmental dimension of the Sustainable Development Agenda entitled “Within the COVID-19 Pandemic, Can We Still Accelerate Action to Achieve SDG 12 in the Arab Region?”.
Participants assessed progress towards responsible consumption and production in the Arab region, and discussed the scale and pace of transformations needed to achieve SDG 12 and other related Goals by 2030. They also exchanged views on building better after the COVID-19 pandemic.
The meeting concluded with a set of key messages and recommendations, which will be presented at the Arab Forum for Sustainable Development, to be held from 29 to 31 March.
