As the Arab region strives to contain the negative impact of COVID-19, progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is increasingly challenging. To help member States determine priority issues and overcome the crisis together, ESCWA has launched the Sustainable Development Dialogues in the Arab Region, a webinar series held in collaboration with United Nations partners and experts from the region.
Based on the findings of the recently published Arab Sustainable Development Report 2020, the webinar series kicked off on 6 July with a first dialogue on the region’s response to COVID-19 and the way forward for health and well-being.
The second dialogue, titled “Changing course? The Arab region’s SDG progress and COVID-19”, was held on 9 July, on the sidelines of the High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development.
