On 23 May, ESCWA held a workshop on disability research and academic writing, targeting a group of young researchers who participated in the “Transition towards independent living within the community for persons with disabilities” conference, by presenting abstracts for their research papers.
The workshop aimed to enhance the skills of young researchers in the Arab region who wish to publish further studies to better promote the rights of persons with disabilities.
The workshop was part of the work of the Arab-EU Research Network on Disability, founded in 2022 by ESCWA in cooperation with the Ministry for Inclusion, Social Wellbeing and Voluntary Organisations of the Republic of Malta, and the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the rights of persons with disabilities.
