Digital transformation in Syria, and e-Participation in Jordan

Digital transformation

In August, the high steering committee of e-Government in Syria adopted the digital transformation strategy, while the Council of Ministers in Jordan approved the policy on e-Participation, both drafted with a key contribution from ESCWA, to improve digital services in Syria and Jordan.

The strategy for digital transformation aims to increase the contribution of the information and communication technology (ICT) sector in Syria to the gross domestic product (GDP), bolster transparency and contribute to fighting corruption.

Meanwhile, the policy on e-Participation aims to better use digital tools to enhance community participation in Jordan and use this participation in the development of legislations and government decisions.
