To raise awareness on the important role that digital technology and innovation play in employment, ESCWA organized a virtual workshop from 14 to 16 October with the Ministry of Labor in Lebanon.
Participants discussed the current status of information and communications technology (ICT) development in Lebanon, and means to improve their use for more job creation and better employment conditions. They also reviewed the challenges and opportunities of employment in Lebanon, focusing on women and young people.
Discussions highlighted the need to upskill public sector officials to successfully implement digital transformation strategies, and the need to develop national labour market information systems and job monitors that match job seekers with employers.
