On May 29, ESCWA held a virtual meeting with the team of technical experts from the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation in Yemen, to discuss the implementation of the Computable General Equilibrium (CGE) modelling for the country developed by ESCWA in 2022.
Participants discussed the Ministry's priorities in the next stages, which include preparing a guide for using the model in Arabic, organizing a training workshop on analyzing simulation results, and securing additional analytical tools.
The CGE model is a useful tool for policy analysts as it helps them monitor the economy, evaluate policy impacts and forecast future economic behaviours.
