To promote the implementation of the energy-related goals and targets of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, ESCWA, the League of Arab States (LAS) and the Regional Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (RCREEE) organized the 5th Arab Forum for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency on 2 and 3 October.
The forum, held on the sidelines of the special session of the Arab Ministerial Council for Electricity in Cairo, addressed the role of innovation in developing the energy sector and promoting sustainable energy in the region. It also shed light on the latest developments related to the Pan-Arab Electricity Market.
Participants included ministers of energy and electricity, government officials, heads of national and regional organizations, and international experts.
